Sharing her plans to travel to London on the 24th and inviting her and Kenneth to dine at the Sesame Club on the 25th; regretting that she missed them both at Edinburgh; remarking that she is "in despair about the literary situation," mentioning a poem ascribed to Shakespeare and a newly discovered poem by "the fourth Brontèˆ sister."

Kenneth Clark was an art historian and a patron of the arts. He was born in London, and educated at Winchester and Trinity College, Oxford, where he gained a second class in modern history. In the autumn of 1925, art historian Bernard Berenson asked him to assist him in the revision of his corpus of Florentine drawings.
